2008 RyanMan 70.3 Triathlon : The Third Annual Ryanman Triathlon! The first year, it was a full Ironman distance: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run. Last year and this year, it was a half-Ironman or 70.3 triathlon (1.2 miles swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run - 70.3 miles total). The Ryanman is a "fun" triathlon. It's not really a race - we try to keep the group together, and regroup at the transitions as necessary. Four people completed the swim, 8 people started the bike, with 6 people completing the entire 56 miles, and 14 people started the run, with 3 completing the 13.1 mile distance. Two people, Team NordicSkiRacers Ryan "Ryanman" Robinson and Mike Muha, finished the entire event. The party after was fabulous! (All photos by Erica and Mike Kotajarvi. Mike did the swim and the bike, but Achilles tendon issues kept him form the run).

2007 Island Lake Triathlon, NordicSkiRacer Division : Five Michigan Cup skiers - Four from Team NordicSkiRacer.com - raced the Island Lake Sprint Triathlon at Island Lake State Rec Area just east of Brighton, MI. The event featured a 800 meter swim, 12.5 mile road bike course, and 5K run. The weather was nice: mid 60's and sunny. Skiers in the event: Ryan Robinson, Yvon Dufour, Greg Worrel, Mike Muha (all from Team NordicSkiRacer) and Amy Kostrzewa. The event was held August 26, 2007.
